PERSONALITY:
jenna can be nice when she wants to be. she's not perfect - nobody is, and she doesn't pretend to be a perfect little miss goody-two-shoes either. jenna can be stubborn at times, she doesn't like to get into arguements considering once she's in them she isn't likely to let it go anytime soon until she wins or she can prove that she's right. it's rare for her to actually admit she's wrong, but when she does - she's either drunk, ill or feeling really out of it. jenna can be generous at times, but it's not like she goes around stuffing hundred dollar bills in the hands of the homeless.
when her friends need her, then she's there for them - no questions asked. she'd do anything for her friends, because she loves them and knows they'd do the same for her. plus, she does anything for sophia because they are twins and that's what twins do, they stick together. jenna is intelligent when she wants to be, she can be fair and reasonable and likes to think things through. but then there are the times where that all goes out the window and she's ditzier than paris hilton on gas. that's just how things go with her. but as i said, she's not perfect - but she's not all bad.

HISTORY:
at twenty one years old, robert dallas was forced to take over his father's ever-expanding hotel chain after a fatal heart-attack killed the ambitious evan dallas. dallas hotels have always been a household name, maybe not as big as the hilton or the ritz, but it was certainly on its way. so robert threw away his socialite life and forgot all about his playboy days as he attempted to stand in the large shoes his father wore. at first, everyone saw him as a joke - there was no way the cocaine-snorting, binge-drinking adolescant was going to run and manage thirty hotels across america. the competition all sat back, laughing - waiting for the first screw up to happen. evidently, they gave him six months to screw things up but after three years when nothing had happened and he had two more hotels under his belt, robert dallas became a serious threat to the smaller chains.
it wasn't long before he met a fiesty little italian beauty, the daughter of a politician who had taken up a permanent residence in his hotel in virginia, where he too chose his permanent place of stay, because her father was a eurpoean politican looking to dominate the states. and she'd come along too to get away from her life, and find something new. they fought. endlessly. the staff were surprised that he hadn't demanded her to be thrown out, but secretly he loved arguing with her. the way her nostrils would flare ever so slightly, the thick accent she had which did nothing but spit insults at him and the constant muttering in italian so he couldn't understand what she was saying. camilla costello drove him insanse but wild at the same time. it only took two years for them to stop arguing long enough to look into each others eyes and to fall into bed together.
the wedding was spectacular, of course. nothing less for roger dallas and his new bride. it was then that the dallas family started to grow and as both roger and camilla had been the only child of their parents, they agreed that together they would have a large family and raise them in the place where they first found love. first born was jason eric dallas. an olive-skinned baby with chocolate brown eyes and a mop of black hair, and a set of lungs that would startle anyone who was unfortunate enough to hear him bawling for attention. two years after jason came the twins. sophia yvette and jenna cait dallas. they were both tiny and delicate as they were kept in incubators for the first three months of their lives, which caused camilla to become startled and slightly depressed as she watched her daughters slowly regain enough health, waiting for what seemed like an endless time before she could hold them properly. and then there was blair. the baby that camilla was terrified to carry because of what happened to the twins, but even though blair was as healthy and gorgeous as jason has been, she sunk into a deep post-natal depression that the doctors waved off by thrusting a bottle of anti-depressants into her skeletal hand and sending her home with a baby that she couldn't handle having.
camilla was a well practised liar. she'd watch her father say a million things he didn't mean just to get votes and win people over. she'd watched her mother at night crying into a glass of wine, and taking her prescription drugs, before emerging out of the room looking radiant and smiling, as if nothing had happened. so she too pretended everything was fine, playing with her children and doing the minimum to make it look as if she was happy. but the depression she tried to surpress had starting to trickle into her veins and her mind, every cell of her insides was screaming while she remained smiling and calm. but even the most accomplished of us must fail. she lasted a year. while roger continued to build his empire, assuming that all was perfect within his world it didn't take much for everything he believed in to come crashing down around him. shortly after blair's first birthday, she decided that enough was enough, she couldn't handle waking up to another day, nor could she face the impossible task of leaving her family. so she didn't leave, but she certainly didn't wake up. for any child to walk in to see their mother hanging from a poorly tied noose, eyes closed and skin blue while the linen nightgown swaying with the corpse gave her the appearance of floating, it was no surprise that jenna didn't faint from the over-whelming sight before her. yet as she let out that blood-curtling scream that roger dallas has never forgotten as he and his staff went running to the penthouse suite, she knew then that something was very wrong with mommy. as one of the receptionists scooped her away, she was around long enough to see her father pull camilla down and attempt to revive her. at least he was foolish enough to try.
she never told jason or blair that it was she who discovered their mother, of course sophia knew. sophia was the only one jenna would speak to for months. she became mute, and it was only after her father threatened to send her to see a special doctor that she snapped out of the silence treatment and tried to erase the image of her mother. at school, she and her siblings told their friends that their mother was amazing and she'd died in a fire that nobody was to blame for. blair certainly was never told about the depression and how it was her birth that triggered it all. but she wasn't to blame. nobody was, it was something that was inevitablty going to happen at one point or another. or so they told themselves anyway.
with jenn and soph, there was none of that ridiculous "good" and "evil" thing happening. yes, surprisingly it was jenn who had more confidence and dominance than sophia did, but jenn was more or less...content with her life and herself. wheras sophia..not so much. she missed her mother, she felt horrible and there was that ever nagging voice in the back of her head telling her that she was nothing but a reject. a fatter, disgusting version of her twin despite the fact that they were identical - she saw nothing similar but she kept these things to herself. she didn't want anyone knowing how she felt, because she was scared that if she told people they'd all assume she was just another crazy like her mother. jenna on the other hand knew there was something not quite right with sophia. the constant exercising, the paranoia, the refusal to eat..it became more and more noticable that sophia was not going through the usual phases of adolescance. robert, who had become a workaholic since the death of his wife had not been so observant toward his children as he should have and when it was jenna, who went and asked him for his help, he saw the same scared face in his fourteen year old daughter as he had done when she was four years old. together they convinced sophia that she was ill, and the best place for her was hospital. of course robert was willing to pay millions if it meant he didn't have to lose another one of his girls. it turned out, that she was suffering from anxiety, body dysmorphic disorder and anorexia. with one of his eldest daughters in hospital, struggling to battle her psychological demons - robert slipped back into being a workaholic, concentrating deeply on his hotels and business while he left his children to feel isolated and alone. jason became a spoiled asshole, treating jenna like shit as soon as sophia had been sent to hospital. he was closer to sophia than he was jenna and blamed her for what had happened, so of course when she attented notre dame academy without sophia, he made life hell for her.
it went on for three years. even after jason left, it was never ending name-calling and bullying and pushing and jeers, all because jason dallas had made her the prime target. she ate lunch alone, because even the more compassionate students knew that being around jenna dallas meant that you would become a target too. she tried to ignore it, smiling through her classes when her chair was being kicked and paper balls were launched at her head. simply walking back to her dorm room with her head held high as yet again her clothes would be stolen from her gym locker, cut up and stuffed back through her locker. there were times, when she'd break down and cry for hours in her room while the girls in her dorm cast a blind eye and pretended to hear nothing. it would do her more harm than good if they got involved. it was the summer before her final year of school, and everytime someone, especially jason mentioned it to her, she would shake and go pale, but of course she was smart enough not to let him see that it bothered her. but her father had other pressing issues, he had bought a large house in hawaii to oversee developments for his newest hotel and announced that he was leaving and wished for them all to go with him. sophia was home finally as she had been deemed well enough to finally come home, and she wanted to go more than anything. jenna had found the escape that she'd been looking for and blair was too young to do anything her way anyways, so she had no choice. of course, jason had no option as he was shadowing his father and his father's work since he'd decided that he was above further education and laughed at his father's suggestion of college.
so before the summer was out, the dallas family moved their belongings and their lives away from virginia and the dark memories that would forever remain with them, to the luxurious and peaceful state of hawaii. sophia had been going to an education center whilst in hospital and like jenna still had her senior year ahead of her, but they both made the decision to drop out of school and promised their father that they were only leaving their education behind because they wanted a head start in the industry working alongside him. of course he was proud that his children wanted to follow on his footsteps. of course, when blair tried to pull that one he made her promise him that she'd be the one to go to college. she was his youngest daughter and he wanted at least one of them to go on and do something different with their lives. even if it meant that he was going to have to bribe her and keep her sweet to get his own way. after spending a year in hawaii with her family, and watching as the finishing touches to her father's hotel have been made jenna has slowly realised that..she doesn't give a toss about the tourist trades. she doesn't want to be another DALLAS tyrant like her great-grandfather, grandfather, father and brother. sophia does though, she's adamant that together, she, jason and jenna are going to be brilliant together. but lately jenna doesn't know what she wants to do. what she does know, is that her father is so busy trying to keep tabs on blair and his wayward son that she's free to slink off and enjoy all the drinks and men that she can get her hands on.
ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE:
She was going to be nosey now, mostly because she didn't want to stop at just his occupation - Sam had the tendency to dig deep given half the chance. She just liked knowing things, it irritated her when people didn't give her everything she felt she needed to know. Some would call that intrusive, but Sammy preferred to think of it as being able to show an interest in different people things. "Photography is amazing, I could never do it properly, but I love looking at different stuff if you know what I mean? So, what kind of photography do you do?" With a smile toying on her lips, she ran her hands through her hair, a subtle attempt at ensuring it wasn't as bad as she was imagining; some wild bush with leaves and twigs tangled so deep that it would take some major combing to get it all out. Fortunately, she was over exaggerating, as she'd already managed to get most of it out before. Relief washed over her as she started to worry that she'd ruined any of his shots, because that would be the icing on the cake, spoiling his day off and wrecking his work. "Thank God. I'd have felt so bad if I had..Because it's not like I could make it up to you. Well..not really." Giving a half-hearted laugh, she felt like slapping herself. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. It wasn't fair that she was being such a moron again, but she wasn't exactly doing it on purpose - if it were up to her, then she would be a little more collected and witty. "See, stalkers are usually tall, lanky and have really horrible clothes..and their teeth are yellow and minging...and they are creepy looking. Whereas you are none of those things. Apart from maybe being tall, because you are really quite big." She didn't know whether or not that was a little rude, saying he was big but it was true..He was and she couldn't help but point it out, even if it was one of those stating the obvious moments that most people tended to laugh at her for.
"You'd never want to meet me again if I couldn't even hold your attention for five minutes! But I know I'm not that boring, unless I've lost my touch. Which, at seventeen would be pretty depressing.." The grin playing on her lips grew, and she looked down at her feet for a moment, wondering why the ground wasn't swallowing her up already - she was coming across as some ditzy barbie, and she really wasn't like that at all. She didn't want him thinking that, it's not the repuatation she wanted even though it seemed to be one that went around the people who didn't know her as well. "Aww, that's cute." Tossing her hair behind her shoulder, she laughed - still shocked that he was going along with it despite the fact that he had no real obligation to in the slightest. Frowning she, shrugged at his hospital comment. "I just can't stand them. They're so white and bright, like they're representing some kind of purity yet it's full of the dying and diseased...It just scares me I guess." Samantha had never understood her aversion to those in medical professions. Doctors, though she was fine with her step-father because she'd gotten used to him however, the others were just as bad...dentists...opticians..She hated them all, and hospitals in particular freaked her out big time. Despite her step-father being a surgeon, she still refused to get over the irrational fear she had of hospitals and health centers. I honestly am not trying to sound like a stalker.. at first, her eyes widened with anxiety as she wondered what on earth he was going to come out with, because to be fair it wasn't exactly a great conversation started when you thought about it. But she had to bite her tongue to stop an outburst of "awww". Now why couldn't the guys she already knew be this sweet? "I don't think you sound like a stalker at all, you sound really sweet actually." Laughing, she nodded at him, surprised that he was willing to walk her all the way back to her car. "I'd hope the journalists would get a bit more creative with the headline! And I don't really want to end up in a ditch and I could do with the company..So yeah, I'd appreciate it if you could walk me back as long as you don't plan on putting me in any ditches then we should be alright." She teased him, throwing another accusation toward the stalker thing, even though she'd convinced him that she didn't think of him like that - she could still mess around about it. "Being a flyer is brilliant, you have all eyes on you and it's such a thrill getting tossed up like that - but I prefer being a base, much safer. And it's not about weight, not really..as long as you can compose yourself in the air and move easily, then..Hah, I'm actually going to shut up, the last thing you want to hear is me drone on and on about positions." She was starting to get tired of having the same people around constantly, and almost forgot for a moment where she was and who she was with - usually with her friends it was all too easy to slip into casual debates over their respective sports and activities. However it did make her come across as some silly schoolgirl, which she was trying to stop herself from doing.
"Alright, so we can agree to no running into each other - but that does leave our next meeting a little dull. I'm sure we'll manage somehow." With her face casting a serious glow, she nodded as if she knew what she was talking about - trying to create an air of intelligence for herself, though she was pretty sure that it would take a lot more than that to redeem herself now and make herself seem clever. She didn't want to meet him again in the same situation, she'd rather be looking a hell of a lot better and smelling of her trademark perfume, rather than looking like a muddy tramp who'd spent the night in a tree. She scoffed at him, trying not to laugh while she answered, "Poor unsuspecting guy?" Shaking her head defensively and gesturing down to herself, Samantha frowned at him. "I think we both know who the real victim is in all of this. Next time I'll just have to do my job properly and bring you down with me." Samantha couldn't help but watch him more surreptisiously now as he smiled and laughed more than he had been, she was becoming increasingly aware of him now and didn't want to be caught staring like some deer caught in the headlights. Instead, giving him a fake glare when he tried to fake innocence. "..No. I think you know fine well when the appropriate times are to agree and to disagree! I'm sure you must've learned that by now." She was assuming that he had a girlfriend, or had had one that reinforced the whole agree/disagree rules; she always forgot about the rules and it's why Samantha ended up with such jerky guys. They were as sweet as sugar on the first date, then the real intentions were known and she would dump them and move on to the next jerk. It was known as Sammy's Man-dating Cycle, and it was a really crappy cycle that she was pissed off with following lately. "Good, because I kind of need those cells." Grinning as she pushed away from the tree and limped along the path she had been originally heading along in the first place, stopping when she reached Ethan - smiling up at him; "Come on then, you can escort me to my car so you don't have to worry about any dodgy news bulletins later."
