from afar, oliver seems narcissistic and spoiled but as one grows to know oliver they find he is none of these qualities. yes, oliver is gorgeous and has great quality, nearly entitled to being narcissistic, but he has a level of modesty and a way of being humble that could compete with a nun. he is extremely intelligent and insists on making his own money and way through life without the help of his wealthy parents. he is kind and compassionate though his way of telling the truth and not bullshitting people can push some away. he is kind in the fact that he will not blow smoke up anyone's ass or give anyone false hope. he is a hopeless flirt and romantic and cannot pull himself away from a witty and gorgeous girl. he is a bit of a womanizer, but isn't into one night stands. he is an all around good guy contrary to popular believe and contrary to all the the guys he went to boarding school with who grew up to be complete assholes.
there are several horrible traits that tend to run in the worthington family. the worthington men tend to be moody, angry, stubborn, and innately rude. his ambitious habits tend to get in the way of him having a steady woman. he will become frustrated at the drop of a hat. oliver will be brutally honest to help people but will say fuck it when they get emotional at what he says. he becomes frustrated when people who need his help won't accept it. he will also do anything to please his mommy. oliver has a vendetta against his father that no one understands except his mother.

daniel roger worthington the third was ready for his first child. he and his wife had a well set up life in england. his wife, irene, had her own fashion line. he had his own monopoly set up in london much like the one donald trump had set up in the united states. he was well known across the country for his wealth. he and his wife began looking at nannies, boarding schools, and interior decorators for their new nursery. they had a child for convience. a child to take over the business once daniel was too old to handle it himself. the child was born more to be an accessory to their perfect lives than to be a beautiful addition to their family. originally, irene felt the same way about a child as daniel did but by the time she was nine months pregnant, she was attached to the child and loved him. she was planning on doting on her new son, and she did as soon as he was born. the fact that oliver thomas worthington was born premature did not help his mother's attachment and as his mother spent hours next to incubator, he was destined to be a momma's boy.
and a momma's boy oliver turned out to be. he spent all of his time attached to his mother's side. he hugged her and followed her to fashion shows. he watched down the runway with her at the end of each show and waved to the paparazzi. he became addicted to the bright lights of the shows and couldn't wait til he could be like one of the strong men in his mommy's show. by the time he was fourteen and five foot eleven inches tall, he was modeling in his mother's shows. his father disapproved greatly but was never around to say anything. he was far too concerned about 401k's, the stock market, and monopolizing the real estate of london's commerical district to carre about his family. all things considered, he forget what being in a family was like a long time ago. by the time oliver was sixteen and a rising star model in london, he hated his father and forget his father's eye color or the sound of his voice. he saw him once a year and hide out during this time. on his seventeenth birthday, his mother bought a large ocean front house in hawaii and began to seperate her money from oliver's father. it would be too public for the two to divorce and this was her way of leaving her husband.
oliver's life became eat, sleep, and model. he continued to model as he attended school at the college for business. part of his wanted to be part of the wall street stock market type of business his father had been in. he wanted to model but more than anything he wanted to be a businessman who could take over a businesss and knock down anyone in his way including oliver's father. he fantasized about the day he could take down and buy his father's business.
