NAME: clementine rosalie moore AGE: sixteen years young HEIGHT: five foot three inches tall WEIGHT: one hundred and fifteen pounds EYE COLOR: blue eyes HAIR COLOR: platinum blonde hair ETHNICITY: caucasian, unknown LIKES:
DISLIKES: SECRETS: she hides the fact she is bipolar, afraid she will be stuck in the girl's home forever. GRADE AND/OR OCCUPATION: junior SEXUAL ORIENTATION: heterosexual, though she might experiment a little. PLAY BY PLAY: dakota fanning
PERSONALITY:
clementine rosalie moore would most likely have been a kind, compassionate young girl had she not been put into the foster care system immediately after she was born. the foster care system changed it so she had no opportunity to be kind or compassionate. she had to learn at an early age to work the system, fend for herself, and not to depend on anybody or anything. she became a very independent girl at a very young age. clem also found that her intelligence, wit, and ability to manipulate others could work to her advantages. these parts of her personality were all put to good use rather than the kind and compassionate attributes she didn't have to opportunity to use.
over the years, a bitter anger has built up in clementine. the anger has been aimed at the people who deserved it as well as the people who didn't. clementine has been known to be a loose cannon ready to explode. her temper gets the better of her and once she gets to a certain point there is no stopping her. she will take her anger out on anyone or anything, whether or not they deserve it. she doesn't want to do this and regularly feels bad afterwards, crying herself to sleep about how horrible she can be, but she pretends she has no weaknesses. at certain times, clementine goes into bouts of moodness and depression but she doesn't let anyone know about these. if the foster care system knew about her nearly bipolar mood swings, she would be placed in a girl's home until she was eighteen for sure. these mood swings and anger by no means that deep down she isn't a good person. underneath it all, she is; she just hates to show it.
PLACE OF BIRTH: honalulu, hawaii DATE OF BIRTH: october third, nineteen ninety-three FINANCIAL STATUS: no money FATHER: unknown MOTHER: rosemarie elizabeth moore SIBLINGS: unknown
HISTORY:
clementine rosalie moore's history has been one documented by the social services of the state of hawaii for her entire life. they gained custody of clementine as an infant when one rosemarie elizabeth moore gave birth to a crack-addicted child. clementine was only with her mother for long enough for her mother to name her and then was taken into state custody. clementine's mother left her with a ridiculous name and an addiction to crack. the premature infant went through withdrawals for weeks and was in the hospital for six months before she went into her first foster home.
the state found it easy to find clementine's first foster home. the young newlyweds were eager to take in the one year old with bright blue eyes and blonde hair. the couple was affluent and wanted the child more than anything in the world, until they had to take care of her. mrs. and mr. zandarski found that the idea of a baby in the home was much different than actual having one. they got clementine out of their house and back to the adoption agency before she could celebrate her second birthday. the couple wanted an accessory to match the home, not a child. the state hesitantly took clementine back into their custody and then the shuffle began.
the shuffle was what clementine and her few friends in the foster care system called their constant moves from one household to another. as clementine got older and her features less cute, her stays in the homes became shorter. she went to houses filled with children and not houses of people hoping to adopt. clementine became the burden of the state and her social worker greta saw her more than anyone else. the names of towns, schools, and the people she stayed with all became a blur. the plastic bags she stuffed her clothes into seemed to be the same each time and the monotonous moves began to haunt her. when she turned fourteen, clementine began to write down the names of the foster families she lived with. over a one year period sixteen names were added to the bottom of her shoe before her social worker got clementine set up in a girl's home. she had run out of places to go and people who wanted to take her.
clementine began to act out within the home to get some attention from her social worker. she figured the more that greta saw clem, the more she would remember her, the more likely she would get a place to stay besides the horrid group home. what clem did know was that she was staying in the group home forever unless some miracle came out of the woodwork. she was screwed to be in the system forever it seemed, or realistically until she was eighteen.
a miracle did come out of no where when one summer day greta showed up at the group home. she interrupted clementine reading in her room which seemed more like a cell block that a room. she nearly hopped out of her bed as she examined greta's smile and her bright navy blue pant suit. she wore it on special occasions. greta sat clementine down, told her to pack her things, and smiled saying she found a hopefully permanent home for clementine, somewhere she could stay until she was eighteen and out of the system. it was a single young man by the name of kasey waldin who she was going to live with. clementine had no idea what was in store for her.
