PERSONALITY:
bitchy tinsley honestly used to be a sweet girl. she would do things for people if they needed them, and would basically be there for any of her friends. but as she grew older, she was backstabbed way too many times, and soon she became guarded and a bitch. she doesn't like anyone unless they are in the same social class as her, but underneath all the layers, she is still a really sweet girl with a heart of gold. but people just have to get past all that, which is truly hard, since she doesn't let anyone in unless she really wants to. flirtatious besides being a bitch, tinsley flirts a lot. it isn't intentional, but rather just the way that she kind of talks to guys. hey, you could even say she flirts with girls, but not really. she just doesn't exactly realize how she is acting around a certain guy, or not even a certain one, when in fact she is flirting and sometimes touching their arm lightly or unknowingly batting her eyelashes at that guy. it isn't her fault, really, just her personality. talkative tinsley loves to talk. once you get her started on a subject, it is rather hard to get the poor girl to stop. she just feels passionately about some things, and even when she doesn't feel passionately about something, she will still talk. it is just a habit that she has always had, especially when she is around friends. tinsley is the girl that takes over the conversation, although she isn't loud about it. most people are used to it, and even embrace it since in the world today, there are more and more shy people who don't like to talk. tinsley is a breath of fresh air in this sense, so generally people do like her for it. hopeless romantic if there is one thing that the girl could have, it would be love. and not just any type of love, one of those loves where the people are so in love that they would die for each other. you know, one of those loves like Romeo & Juliet. she could spend hours watching romantic films, or even romantic comedies. Tragedies are some of her favorite as well, so generally, when she is in on a night, she is watching one of these and wondering how in the world would she ever have a love like that. You can't blame her for it, it is just the way that she is and always has been.
PLACE OF BIRTH: chicago, illinois DATE OF BIRTH: april 5th FINANCIAL STATUS: wealthy FATHER: wesley meline MOTHER: melanie meline SIBLINGS: none
HISTORY:
tinsley was born in chicago, illinois to an actress and a lawyer. their names were melanie meline and wesley meline, both only 25 years old, and thus not very successful at her birth. her mother was still looking for a job somewhere as an actress, and she found this in the comfort of chicago's theater scene. tinsley's father, on the other hand, became a full-out entertainment lawyer and thus began raking in the money. this wasn't exactly the life either of them wanted to live, but now with a child in their lives, aka tinsley, they needed something to help her get along with school and her life. they wanted to give the girl the world on a string, and both worked very hard at it. having tinsley made them decide that they were not going to have any more kids, as with the work they had to do, they didn't have the time to take care of another one.
tinsley grew up in the heart if chicago, living in a small apartment at first and then gradually upgrading until her family reached a penthouse apartment. the flow of money was good for them, and they were all quite happy. as a baby, tinsley was never fussy and generally didn't even try to give her parents a hard time. she had babysitters and nannies all the time, since her parents worked so much, so she basically grew up without parents. her father would be home at night, but her mother would be gone for most of the day, sometimes not getting home until much after the young girl's bedtime. theater work was hard, but whenever melanie talked about it, it glamorized it and thoroughly convinced tinsley that the theater was where she was meant to be.
throughout her years of schooling, tinsley always tried out for every single play that happened, and generally made it without a problem. she would sometimes get a lead part, actually more than anyone else in the private school that she went to from kindergarten until graduation. the issue was that the private school was too small to gain any repertoire for its excellent theater program, and thus tinsley knew she was not going to go anywhere unless she moved somewhere where she could gain a role or more on a rather large stage. and that was what she realized in high school. along with that, she realized that she was an alcoholic. every weekend, if not every night, she would go out for drinks with friends or end up at someone's house for a party, waking up wasted in the morning and having no idea where she was. this, in turn, is when she went to rehab. it helped her immensely, but every now and then, she still end up drinking and getting wasted, but not as often.
her escape to hawaii was shortly after she started her junior year in college. she couldn't handle the stress anymore at northwestern university in chicago, and so she packed her stuff up, called her parents to let them know where she was going, and bought her plane tickets. being an actress in her hometown was hard, especially when there were mainly only casting calls for plays. she did have a singing voice and everything, but she was just so loaded down that she couldn't take it anymore. tinsley had started going back to drinking as a crutch, and she knew it wasn't a good love affair, and so she left. and she has been on vacation ever since.
ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE:
She didn't mind him not knowing about her past. It was one of those things that just didn't matter, considering how much different she was now than she was in high school. Kind of weird, right, them having known each other for so long and him having no idea of her past. But he could probably guess if he watched her actions closely enough and watched how she drank, whenever she did drink. At least she wasn't the stupid drunk girl who ended up pregnant and didn't know who in the world the father was. She had been more careful than that, which was a good thing. If she hadn't been, then chances are that she would have been slipped a drug, been raped, and possibly killed. So, maybe this meant that Atticus should learn about her past? But at the moment, it wasn't the right time. Tinsley would have to fill him in some other time, and she probably would demand that he tell her his past, just to make her feel like she wasn't the only screw up in the world. She knew that she could go months without telling him, but if the two were to end up in a relationship, he deserved to know. He deserved to know all of her deep, dark secrets and all of her history, not just bits and pieces of it.
High school really was high school. It was a time in which everyone was deciding who they were. They would go through so many changes, both bodily and mentally. That was what had happened to Tinsley. She was no longer the same girl. She was more mature and more grown up, and she could realize her own issues without someone helping her. Pretty soon, she was going to want to settle down with someone and end up marrying them. She had no idea how soon, but she knew it was going to be within the next few years. Tinsley had wanted to change herself, she didn't want to be the girl that everyone said she was. And so, during her senior year, Tinsley had made huge efforts to change. Everyone thought she was just trying to fit in more than she already did, and so of course she was made fun of and became a slight outcast. But she was fine with that, because she knew she was trying to change herself. And that made her feel so much better than not changing. If only Atti would realize that, then maybe he would make the effort to be seen in people's eyes better. But Tins did like that he didn't exactly care what people said about him. She wished she could be that way.
As his arms wrapped tighter around her, she knew this was where she was meant to be. Tinsley was never going to want to be in another man's arms as much as she wanted to be in Atticus's at the moment. He was going to be hers, all hers, and she was going to make sure of it. She wanted to spend all of her time with him, and for him to never leave. They would spend days in his apartment, or hers, just watching TV. Or that was how it was in her mind. Of course, she would have classes and whatnot, but it was worth missing those for him. He was just what she needed at that moment, something that would motivate her even more from staying away from drinking. If she did go back to drinking, who knew what other men she might end up with. But no, she wouldn't do that, just so she had him. As he pulled away, her lips tingled and she let a smile come onto her red lips. "I know, even better than any I've ever had. You're perfect." She noticed his daring smile, realizing he wanted more. And of course, she did too. Tinsley was sure of it. And so, she ran her red nails through his hair, tangling them in there at the base of his neck, and brought her lips to his again.
