• indecisive ; brynne is the quintessence of indecision. she never ever knows what she wants. she avoids making decisions at all costs, and will normally just go with the flow. letting other people make the decisions works for her.
• impulsive ; brynne is the queen of impulsive. she does stupid things all the time. she tries not to be, but she really isn't the planning kind of person. she goes with the flow and does or says whatever she feels like. it often gets her in trouble.
• sweetheart ; even if bee causes trouble often, she always has the best of intentions. she doesn't really hate anyone and normally isn't mean to people unless she has a reason. she's pretty genuine with her sincerity.
• laid-back ; brynne is the most chill person ever. she never ever intentionally tries to start drama. she hates it. she tries to stay out of things, and for the most part is good at doing that. she likes to remain pretty calm for the most part, unless she bottles things up.

HISTORY:

henry and lorraine golightly grew up next door to each other. they were born to families equal in wealth and social status, and their parents were the greatest of friends. henry and lorraine, however, did not start out that way. henry and lorraine started out as friends whom were merely forced together by their parents. they would complain about having to hang out with each other, and would often make fun of one another in the presence of their own friends. in their own little love/hate relationship, they grew to become real friends and once they entered high school they began dating. they dated from freshman through senior year. once they graduated, they both headed to rhode island to attend college at brown together. they had their rough patches and break-ups but all and all the stuck together. finally, in their second year of college, henry proposed. the two married that following spring.

henry and lorraine were a match made in heaven. they had their silly fights and what not, but they were madly in love. they had only been married a few years when lorraine fell pregnant. the two were thrilled, despite the fact that it put their careers on hold for just a little. lorraine was just starting out as a designer, and henry had just taken over his father's business. a baby was the only thing that could possibly make their lives anymore perfect. eight and a half months later, while sitting at the family christmas dinner, lorraine's water broke. henry rushed her to the hospital and waited by her side for their daughter to be born.

on december twenty-sixth, after quite a few hours of labor, a beautiful and healthy baby girl was born, brynne elizabeth golightly. for the first few months, the couple doted upon their daughter, spending all their time with her, but this slowly faded as the couple got back into their careers. lorraine started getting back into her designing, which lead her to discover a career in fashion magazines, and henry was constantly traveling around the world for business. as much as they wanted to spend time with their daughter, she was practically raised by nannies and on occasion her maternal grandmother, elizabeth.

as a baby and toddler, brynne was often forced into playdates with children of her parents' friends. this was how she met her best friend atticus. the roberts family had always been rather close to the golightlys, and the two were forced to be friends at a young age. despite the fact that these friends were forced upon her, she did get along with most of them quite well. bee had always been a rather outgoing kid and made friends rather easily, especially once she started school. like most kids, she started kindergarten at the age of five. her parents sent her to a private kindergarten, an expensive one at that, as they wanted her to have the best. luckily enough for her, her best friend was also sent to this school, so she had someone to hang out with. kindergarten and first grade were pretty eventful years for brynne. kindergarten was where she met most of her closest friends and it was also the year she had her first kiss. needless to say, bee never really went through that cooties stage.

first grade, when brynne was six, things changed for the worse. she had gotten into a fight with her parents, angry at them for not showing up to the school play. when she got home, she told them she hated them and marched off to her room to throw a fit. the next morning, she woke up to find that both her parents were gone and the nanny told her that her mother would be there soon to take her to the hospital. brynne was very confused by what all was going on, but her father henry was in the hospital because his cancer came back. bee had absolutely no idea that her father had been sick. her parents had done well to hide it from her. each time he had been in the hospital, bee was told that he was away on business, and she never really suspected otherwise. when she was first taken to the hospital, because of her age, she was forced to stay in the waiting room. by the time she was actually allowed to go back and see her father, it was pretty much too late. he had slipped into a coma. the following day, he passed away.

bee was young, but she was still very devastated by his death. she refused to speak to anyone for a week. this was also the start of her hatred for her mother. her mother had kept her father's sickness away from her and she moved on way too quickly for bee's liking. lorraine had pretty much lost the love of her life and after his death, she snapped into what bee now likes to call "whore mode." back then however, bee didn't really understand this and she hated her mother for trying to bring new guys into her life. by this time in her life, lorraine had taken over a job at a fashion magazine working her way up to one day be an editor. she was constantly working, or spending time with her countless boyfriends. lorraine was remarried a little over a year after henry's death. brynne did not like this one bit, but didn't really have a choice in the matter.

all throughout elementary school, bee tried to spend as much time as she could at her friends' house. she got away with it a lot of the time, especially staying with atticus due to the fact that their parents were friends. lorraine was never home, and when bee was home she was there with nannies. her lack of attention showed up quite a bit in school. bee wasn't necessarily a bad kid, but she was quite a bit more social than she was supposed to be. she would talk during class and didn't really pay attention all that much. though the last bit could be attributed to her ADD. nonetheless, she was a smart kid, she just never really put forth the effort. this lack of effort was even more noticeable as she started middle school.

middle school is supposed to be those awkward years for every kid, and that held pretty true for bee. she was never really awkward in the looks or actions sense, but it was definitely those years where she became very unsure of herself. just like in elementary school, she never really put an effort into her school, but it was more noticeable now. she passed her classes of course, but she was by no means the top of her class. this was also the time when bee started getting into a lot more dating and parties and such. she and atticus dated for a little bit, but you know middle school relationships, they never last that long. by the end of middle school, she and her group of friends had gotten into a lot of things they probably shouldn't have. bee had gotten drunk several times, and had lost her virginity at the age of thirteen. needless to say, the older she got the more downhill things seemed to be going.

by the time high school had rolled around for bee, lorraine had been remarried quite a few times and had been named editor of the fashion magazine that she worked for. she was well aware of brynne's partying but due to the fact that she was always busy she really had no way of controlling her. bee was partying all the time, staying out late, skipping her classes. it was bad. bee was starting to develop all these bad habits. she had always been prone to depression, but during high school was when she realized that she could drink it all away. she was a little bit unsure about her body image as well so she would sometimes skip meals, but still she would go drinking and partying later. during her junior year of high school it had gotten to the point where she would pass out nearly every night, she would show up drunk to family occasions, she would sleep around, she would do pretty much every stupid thing a person could do. this was where her mother finally decided to intervene and put a stop to it.

the summer after her junior year, her mother sent her away by force to an institution that would help her with all her problems, essentially rehab. as much as brynne had detested going, it did help her. when she returned for senior year, she had calmed down quite a bit. she still went to the occasional party or had an occasional drink, but she had cleaned up her act enough to get her grades at school up a bit and her life back in order, well to an extent. at the end of the year brynne graduated, not anywhere near the top of her class, but not at the complete bottom either. she was pretty set on staying in manhattan and pursuing her broadway dreams, but her mother had other plans for her.

lorraine had gotten brynne into brown university. if both of bee's parent's hadn't attended the school and if the dean hadn't owed her mother a favor, she would have never gotten into the school on her own. she hardly had the grades for a community college let alone an ivy-league, but hey, money talks. that fall, brynne was shipped off to rhode island with little choice in the matter. at first brynne was rather positive about the whole thing. she figure college would be a good new start for her, but when she got there it wasn't really like she had expected. the people there were nice, sure, but they all looked at her like less than them. she barely passed her first year of classes. the work was much harder than bee could handle. her second year there was worse. the stress was starting to get to her and she couldn't handle it anymore.

she slipped back into old habits, the drinking, the depression, even a little bit of the anorexia. she barely survived the second year, only really passing because she had paid someone to do her final projects for her. as soon as the year ended she returned home to manhattan, meeting up with her good friend atticus. due to pressure and stress levels of the both of them, the two decided that they were going to take off for the summer. travel somewhere to get away from it all. normally brynne's mother would protest this kind of thing, but she was a bit preoccupied with her sixth remarriage.

after a little bit of discussion, brynne and atticus decided to spend the summer in hawaii at one of bee's family's vacation homes. hawaii was just what she needed. relaxation, doing whatever the hell she wanted. she needed to get away from the pressure and stress and just chill out, figure out what she wanted to do with her life. she now plans on staying the entire summer here in hawaii, and perhaps longer. she has decided not to go back to school in the fall. it was causing her to slip into her old habits, and she is convinced that staying in hawaii or traveling would do her more good than going back to school. bee is now just enjoying her summer. who knows what will happen next.
